Perioperative Services Manager | Melbourne

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Perioperative Services Manager to join a leading private hospital in Melbourne. In this full-time leadership role, you will be accountable for the clinical, operational and professional leadership of the Operating Theatre Complex, driving excellence in patient care, team performance and service delivery.

The Perioperative Service Manager provides strategic and operational leadership overseeing the clinical, financial, and staffing requirements for our operating theatres, Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU), Cardiac Catheter Lab (CCL) and Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD). This role focuses on optimising theatre throughput and resource allocation while ensuring strict adherence to patient safety standards and clinical governance. Additionally, the manager fosters a collaborative multidisciplinary culture to maintain high-quality surgical outcomes and operational efficiency. You'll be working closely with the clinical team to ensure the efficient management of staff and resources. This will be with the overall goal of ensuring excellence in care delivery in line with policies and procedures and best practice. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, you will be mentoring and leading a passionate team of nurses and clinical support staff, so this role will suit an individual driven to help others succeed.

• Relevant qualifications and registration with AHPRA;
• Minimum of five (5) years' post-graduate nursing experience in the perioperative setting;
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams with a proven ability to drive operational efficiency and foster a culture of excellence (highly desirable);
• Leadership and Management post-graduate qualifications or relevant post-graduate specialty qualifications will be highly regarded;
• Demonstrated experience in doctor engagement;
• Experience or exposure to managing clinical staff recruitment, rostering and performance management;
• Ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human and capital resources;
• Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to engage, influence, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including clinical teams, management, and patients, to ensure clear understanding and alignment of objectives.

REMUNERATION

$68.76 - $70.82 per hour.

The hospital, located in Melbourne, features 70 patient beds, four operating theatres, a cardiac catheterisation lab, a sleep study unit, a day chemotherapy unit, an on-site pharmacy, pathology, and medical imaging. The wide range of specialties available includes general medicine, cancer care, cardiac care, ENT, orthopaedics, IVF and fertility, vascular care, urology, nephrology, gastroenterology, general surgery, thoracic surgery, respiratory and sleep services, and plastic and reconstructive surgery.
