Assistant Nurse Unit Manager – Endoscopy | Canberra

Join a passionate and supportive team at a private hospital in Canberra as a full-time Assistant Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM). This role provides an opportunity to support the NUM and CEO/DoN in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients undergoing day surgery, while acting as a key clinical resource for nursing staff.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing clinical staff and rostering;
• Developing effective relationships with key stakeholders;
• Promoting and ensuring safe patient care;
• Demonstrating and leading others in the delivery of high-quality nursing care, documentation, customer service and effective inter-team communication;
• Positively implementing change;
• Demonstrating commitment to and working knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement;
• Understanding current WHS legislative requirements and fostering a strong safety culture;
• Contributing to continuous quality improvement in line with best practice.

REQUIREMENTS

• Current registration with AHPRA;
• At least 5 years of recent experience in endoscopy perioperative and relevant experience working in a day surgery or having held an equivalent senior nursing position;
• Postgraduate qualifications in perioperative nursing (desirable but not essential);
• Demonstrated leadership and management ability including the capacity to initiate and support change within a team framework;
• Demonstrated management skills with ability to take initiative in resolving issues;
• Well-developed organisational and decision-making skills;
• The ability to set priorities, establish and achieve agreed objectives;
• Thorough knowledge of consumables, product management and cost containment;
• Demonstrated computer literacy and confidence in using Microsoft.

Located in the Australian Capital Territory, the purpose-built facility has been designed to meet the growing endoscopic needs of the ACT and surrounding areas of New South Wales. The facility specialises in gastroscopy (upper gastrointestinal endoscopy) and colonoscopy (lower gastrointestinal endoscopy), providing high-quality patient care in a modern and specialised clinical environment. It is fully equipped with the latest medical technology, with rigorous infection control practices in place to ensure a safe and high standard of care.
