Assistant Nurse Unit Manager – ENT | Melbourne

A leadership opportunity is now available for an Assistant Nurse Unit Manager to join the Plastic Surgery and Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) Department at a private hospital in Melbourne.  This is an exciting full-time opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care and foster a supportive team environment within a leading healthcare organisation.

As an ANUM, you will work collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Manager to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the ENT ward. You will play a crucial role in clinical leadership, staff development, and maintaining exceptional standards of patient care.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing clinical leadership and guidance to the nursing team on ENT unit;
• Assisting the Nurse Unit Manager with daily ward operations, resource management, and rostering;
• Participating in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans for medical and cardiac patients;
• Mentoring and supporting nursing staff, including new graduates and junior team members;
• Ensuring compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and relevant clinical standards;
• Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and risk management strategies within the unit;
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate comprehensive patient care and discharge planning;
• Managing patient admissions, transfers, and discharges effectively.

REQUIREMENTS

• Current registration with AHPRA;
• Three years of experience as an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) scrub/scout nurse;
• Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in a senior nursing role;
• A commitment to patient-centred care and continuous professional development;
• The ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities;
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.

REMUNERATION 

$59.16 - $61.11 per hour.
