An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and dynamic Assistant Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to lead and support the Plastics Unit at a private hospital in Melbourne. ABOUT THE ROLE
As an ANUM, you will work collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Manager to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Plastics Ward. You will play a crucial role in clinical leadership, staff development, and maintaining exceptional standards of patient care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing clinical leadership and guidance to the nursing team;
- Assisting the Nurse Unit Manager with daily ward operations, resource management and rostering;
- Participating in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised patient care plans;
- Mentoring, supporting and developing nursing staff, including new graduates and junior team members;
- Ensuring compliance with hospital policies, procedures and relevant clinical standards;
- Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and risk management strategies within the unit;
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate comprehensive patient care and effective discharge planning;
- Managing patient admissions, transfers and discharges in a safe and efficient manner.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- Extensive clinical experience in Plastics reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery;
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in a senior nursing role;
- A commitment to patient-centred care and continuous professional development;
- The ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities;
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.

REMUNERATION
$59.16 - $61.11 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.

The hospital, located in Melbourne, is an acute 67-bed Surgical and Medical facility in Hampton's bayside suburb. The facility has 3 Operating Theatres, 2 Procedure Rooms, a Day Surgery unit, and a 4-bed High Dependency unit. It also offers on-site Radiology and Pathology services, Physiotherapy services, and busy specialist consulting suites. A comprehensive range of services is provided, including Breast Surgery, ENT, Gastrointestinal Surgery, General Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology, and Vascular Surgery.
