An excellent opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse ready to assume the role of Associate Nurse Unit Manager in the Mental Health Unit at a private hospital in Melbourne. This can be either a full-time or part-time role.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will work across general adult and older persons' psychiatry inpatient units, providing recovery-oriented mental health services to voluntary consumers through inpatient individual and group therapy programs, as well as TMS and ECT services.
As the ANUM, you will be:
- Assisting in managing the nursing and related resources available to the ward/unit;
- Acting as a role model in setting the clinical standards and achieving high-quality evidence-based nursing care;
- Fostering the development of cooperative professional relationships with the multidisciplinary health care team;
- Facilitating a working environment that provides professional development and job satisfaction for all employees;
- Assuming the responsibilities and authority of the Nurse Unit Manager in their absence.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Current Registration with AHPRA;
- Experience in the Acute setting/relevant to the position, advanced skills;
- Experience in intake, TMS or ECT desired;
- Post-graduate qualification in Mental Health required;
- Grade 2, Year 2 or above;
- Sound clinical knowledge;
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
- Working with Children check;
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills;
- Positive role modelling behaviours;
- Excellent customer service focus, time management and prioritisation;
- Ability to manage a dynamic and changing environment;
- High degree of computer literacy, including MS Office and various databases.
