An excellent opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse with solid scrub/scout experience, particularly in ENT and Maxillofacial specialties, to join the theatre team at a private hospital in Melbourne. In this role, you will support the Perioperative Services Manager by contributing to the leadership and clinical guidance of the theatre team, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality perioperative care.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The position is responsible for providing clinical leadership within the unit, supporting its strategic direction, operational performance, and quality management to ensure optimal patient outcomes. In collaboration with and under the guidance of the Peri-Operative Services Manager and Nurse Unit Manager, you will deliver clinical and operational leadership to ensure the efficient and effective coordination of evidence-based nursing care. You will be accountable for the day-to-day management of the unit, including the effective oversight of human, financial, and material resources, to support safe, high-quality, and sustainable service delivery.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Current Registration with AHPRA;
  • Sound clinical knowledge;
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
  • Working with Children check (if relevant);
  • Experience in the Acute setting/relevant to the position, advanced skills (at least 12 months experience in Gynaecology);
  • Degree in relevant specialty area;
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Positive role modelling behaviours;
  • Excellent customer service focus, time management and prioritisation;
  • Ability to manage a dynamic and changing environment;
  • High degree of computer literacy, including MS Office and various databases.

The hospital, located in Melbourne, is a 127-bed acute facility offering patients a wide range of surgical, medical, maternity, mental health, and rehabilitation care. The hospital has 5 modern well, equipped interactive operating suites accommodating the following specialities: orthopaedics, gynaecology & obstetrics, urology, neurology, plastics, paediatrics, ENT, ophthalmology, general, and endoscopy.
