About the Role
As Associate Nurse Unit Manager – Perioperative, you'll provide clinical leadership within a fast-paced, varied theatre environment specialising in urology procedures. This role combines advanced perioperative expertise with operational management in a newly renovated, modern surgical setting where you can take pride in your work and demonstrate a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical operational direction to ensure efficient and effective perioperative management
  • Coordinate the delivery of evidence-based nursing care within the operating theatre environment
  • Facilitate a learning culture to ensure continuous improvement and staff development
  • Maintain professional, constructive working relationships with visiting medical officers (VMOs) and surgical teams
  • Manage the effective daily operation of human, financial, and material resources
  • Coordinate and drive clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives
  • Undertake direct patient care as required
  • Provide mentoring and leadership to perioperative nursing staff
  • Ensure compliance with ACSQHC National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards
  • Demonstrate positive role modelling behaviours and excellent customer service focus

Essential Requirements

  • Current AHPRA Registered Nurse registration
  • Valid Working with Children check
  • Demonstrated experience being in charge of theatre shifts
  • Sound clinical knowledge in perioperative nursing
  • Postgraduate degree in relevant specialty area (or working towards completion)
  • Compliance with ACSQHC National Standards
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills
  • Positive role modelling behaviours
  • Excellent customer service focus, time management, and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to manage a dynamic and changing theatre environment
  • High-level computer literacy including MS Office and various databases

Desirable Qualifications

  • Current or previous Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) experience
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist experience in perioperative or urology nursing
