A leadership opportunity awaits a highly passionate, dynamic, and engaging Floor Coordinator to join the Recovery Team on a full-time basis at a private hospital in Sydney.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
As a Floor Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the shift workflow, ensuring the timely and efficient flow of operating lists and labour management. This is a key role in supporting the strategic direction of the department to both internal and external customers.
As a Floor Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing safe, high-quality care aligned with current best practice standards;
- Supporting and liaising with the Nurse Unit Manager of the Perioperative Department and wards;
- Ensuring theatre staffing is appropriate and cost-efficient;
- Demonstrating understanding of legislative requirements, ACORN, and sterilisation standards;
- Maintaining knowledge of accreditation processes and Quality/Risk management;
- Ensuring compliance with ACQSHC National Standards.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current Registration with AHPRA;
- Registered Nurse with at least 2 years' experience in perioperative settings;
- Postgraduate certificate in perioperative nursing or equivalent (desirable);
- Great working knowledge of ACQSHC National standards;
- Demonstrated ability to foster positive working relations with a wide range of diverse stakeholders;
- Demonstrate a good knowledge base in labour management;
- Understand the requirements of private health funding;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care;
- High degree of computer literacy, including MS Office and various databases;
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment.

Situated in Southern Sydney, the hospital boasts 168 overnight beds. It is renowned for its expertise in cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, spinal surgery, endovascular surgery, interventional neuroradiology, general surgery, general medicine, liver surgery, orthopedics, maternity, and pediatrics. The facility additionally features a dedicated Day Surgery unit, a Coronary Care Unit, and an Intensive Care Unit.
