An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced clinician with management experience, or someone aspiring to step into a leadership role, to join a private hospital in Hobart as a Hospital Coordinator. This position offers a fully rotational roster, with full-time or part-time hours available. Relocation and accommodation options are also available for those seeking a tree change.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will coordinate the effective management of hospital services, ensuring high-quality patient care and positive clinical outcomes. As the senior nurse in charge during weekdays, you will oversee patient flow from admission to discharge, manage staffing, and support the hospital's performance across patient safety, quality, operations, and financial outcomes before handing over to the after-hours team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards across all wards;
- Supporting and liaising with the respective Nurse Unit Manager(s) of wards and departments to ensure all areas are staffed appropriately;
- Managing patient flow and coordinating and planning operational processes while working within the hospital's budget direction;
- Demonstrating and leading staff in delivering operational efficiencies;
- Coordinating patient admissions;
- Supporting the hospital's commitment to quality improvement and the achievement of the National Safety & Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
REQUIREMENTS
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA Registration;
- Recent management experience at Senior Nurse / NUM or Hospital Coordinator level;
- Demonstrated experience with the coordination and allocation of staff;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and co-ordinate resources appropriately;
- High degree of computer literacy including MS Office;
- People leadership skills including mentorship and coaching of team members;
- Completion or working towards a postgraduate qualification in management advantageous;
- Available to work a rotational roster - early, late & night shifts 7 days a week.
REMUNERATION
A salary of $69.84 per hour.

The hospital, located in Hobart, is a fully accredited facility with 146 beds providing a unique range of acute services, including general surgery, specialty care in orthopaedics, urology, gynaecology, breast, colorectal, oral, vascular, plastics, obesity surgery, and select surgery for paediatrics.
