An outstanding chance awaits a highly motivated and skilled Registered Nurse who has had previous management experience and is ready to undertake a key leadership role at a private hospital in Melbourne. This permanent part-time position is based on the night shift.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Hospital Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:
  • Supervising the delivery of safe, high-quality care in line with current best practice standards;
  • Supporting and liaising with Nurse Unit Managers across wards and departments;
  • Assisting with the coordination of staffing to meet clinical and operational requirements;
  • Managing patient flow while coordinating and planning operational processes;
  • Coordinating patient admissions and supporting effective discharge planning;
  • Supporting the hospital's commitment to quality improvement, National Safety Standards, and the safety of staff, patients, and visitors.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Current registration with AHPRA;
  • Minimum 5 years working as a Registered Nurse;
  • Ability to manage competing demands and coordinate resources appropriately;
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills;
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills; 
  • Recent experience in bed management and/or patient flow (desirable);
  • Demonstrated experience with the coordination and allocation of staff (desirable);
  • High degree of computer literacy, including MS Office;
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Leadership skills, including mentorship and coaching of team members.

ABOUT THE FACILITY

The hospital, located in Melbourne's northwestern suburbs, is a fully accredited 186-bed major surgical, acute medical, and emergency facility. With a 12-cubicle Emergency Department, 5 operating theatres, a 12-bed critical care complex, and a busy Day Procedure Unit, the hospital provides a wide range of services to its community. The hospital specialises in orthopaedics, general surgery, general medicine, oncology, cardiology, urology, plastic surgery, ENT and gynaecology.
