Excellent opportunities exist for an experienced and dedicated Nurse Unit Manager to join the Cardiac Ward on a permanent full-time basis at a private hospital in Sydney. While leadership or management experience is desirable, this role will also suit an experienced Registered Nurse looking to step up into a leadership position.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Cardiac Services Manager, the Nurse Unit Manager will lead the establishment and ongoing management of this ward. Key achievements in this role will include successfully building the ward with a high-performing team along with delivering safe, consistent patient-centred care. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Registered Nurse with proven leadership skills to contribute to the delivery of outstanding patient outcomes, whilst positively impacting culture and growing their leadership abilities.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Being accountable for the clinical, operational and professional leadership of the cardiac ward;
- Ensuring the delivery of safe, high‑quality patient care and optimal clinical outcomes;
- Planning, implementing and evaluating practices, processes and services in line with standards, legislative requirements and best practice.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- Minimum 12 months' experience in the cardiology and/or cardiothoracic setting;
- Excellent clinical assessment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills;
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational abilities;
- A commitment to patient-centred care and continuous quality improvement;
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and manage challenging situations;
- Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic clinical environment;
- Commitment to teamwork, patient safety, and professional growth.
REMUNERATION
On offer is a base hourly rate ranging from $70.89 - $76.26 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
