A leadership opportunity awaits a highly passionate, dynamic and engaging Nurse Unit Manager to join the Theatre Team on a permanent full-time basis at a private hospital in Sydney.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
As a Nursing Unit Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring theatre lists within specialty and liaising with specialty Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) or doctors' rooms to ensure material resources are available;
- Coordinating theatre equipment, consumables, and instruments with accuracy and in a cost-effective manner;
- Ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family-centred care in a team-focused environment;
- Working clinically to support VMO and staff (60% Clinical 40% Administration) - flexibly working AM/PM depending on operational requirements;
- Providing guidance, mentoring, and supporting your team;
- Ensuring compliance with ACQSHC National Standards.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current Registration with AHPRA;
- Registered Nurse with at least 5 years' experience in theatre, particularly in orthopaedics;
- Demonstrated management experience;
- Proven experience in building and leading high-performing teams with a service excellence approach;
- Demonstrated ability to foster positive working relations with a wide range of diverse stakeholders;
- Demonstrable excellence in written and verbal communication skills, including advanced negotiation and conflict resolution skills;
- A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care;
- High degree of computer literacy, including MS Office and various databases;
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment;
- Tertiary postgraduate qualifications in a relevant Nursing specialty (desirable);
- A demonstrated understanding and implementation of quality improvement, change management, models of care, evidence-based practice, and practice development.

REMUNERATION
$68.87 to $74.06 per hour.

Situated in Southern Sydney, the hospital boasts 168 overnight beds. It is renowned for its expertise in cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, spinal surgery, endovascular surgery, interventional neuroradiology, general surgery, general medicine, liver surgery, orthopedics, maternity, and pediatrics. The facility additionally features a dedicated Day Surgery unit, a Coronary Care Unit, and an Intensive Care Unit.
