A leadership opportunity awaits a highly passionate, dynamic, and engaging Coordinator to join the fantastic Orthopaedic Theatre Team on a permanent full-time basis at a private hospital in Sydney. 

ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Orthopaedic Clinical Speciality Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring theatre lists within the specialty and liaising with the Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) or doctors' rooms to ensure material resources are available;
  • Coordinating theatre equipment, consumables, and instruments accurately and in a cost-effective manner;
  • Ensuring the delivery of excellent patient- and family-centred care in a team-focused environment;
  • Working clinically to support VMOs and staff (60% clinical, 40% administrative), with flexibility to work AM/PM depending on operational requirements;
  • Providing guidance, mentoring, and support to the team;
  • Ensuring compliance with ACQSHC National Standards.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Current Registration with AHPRA;
  • Knowledge of the Australian College of Operating Room Nurses Standards (ACORN) and awareness of legislative requirements;
  • Registered Nurse with at least 5 years' experience in theatre, particularly in orthopaedics;
  • Demonstrated management experience;
  • Proven experience in building and leading high-performing teams with a service excellence approach;
  • Demonstrable excellence in written and verbal communication skills, including advanced negotiation and conflict resolution skills;
  • High degree of computer literacy, including MS Office and various databases;
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team environment;
  • Tertiary post-graduate qualifications in a relevant Nursing specialty (desirable);
  • A demonstrated understanding of Work, Health and Safety legislation;
  • A demonstrated understanding and implementation of quality improvement, change management, models of care, evidence-based practice and practice development (desirable).

REMUNERATION

$68.87 to $74.06 per hour.

ABOUT THE FACILITY 

Situated in Southern Sydney, the hospital boasts 168 overnight beds. It is renowned for its expertise in cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, spinal surgery, endovascular surgery, interventional neuroradiology, general surgery, general medicine, liver surgery, orthopedics, maternity, and pediatrics. The facility additionally features a dedicated Day Surgery unit, a Coronary Care Unit, and an Intensive Care Unit.
