Perioperative Services Manager | Port Macquarie

Outstanding prospects are available at the public hospital in Port Macquarie for a Perioperative Services Manager who thrives in a complex and demanding environment and is able to work collaboratively with medical, nursing, and executive colleagues. This is a full-time permanent role.

The Perioperative Service Manager provides strategic and operational leadership across the surgical department, overseeing the clinical, financial, and staffing requirements of operating theatres, recovery, and day surgery units. This role focuses on optimising theatre throughput and resource allocation while ensuring strict adherence to patient safety standards and clinical governance. Additionally, the manager fosters a collaborative multidisciplinary culture to maintain high-quality surgical outcomes and operational efficiency.

You'll be working closely with the clinical team to ensure the efficient management of staff and resources. This will be with the overall goal of ensuring excellence in care delivery in line with policies and procedures and best practices. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, you will be mentoring and leading a passionate team of nurses and clinical support staff, so this role will suit an individual driven to help others succeed.

• Current Registration with AHPRA;
• Minimum of five (5) years' post-graduate nursing experience;
• Experience in perioperative nursing;
• Proven knowledge as a senior nurse or manager (highly desirable);
• Management or relevant post-graduate specialty qualifications will be highly regarded;
• Experience or exposure to managing clinical staff recruitment, rostering, and performance management;
• Ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human, and capital resources.

REMUNERATION

The hospital, located in Port Macquarie, is a 72-bed acute Medical/Surgical and Rehab facility with 6 Renal Chairs and a Day Surgery complex. Comprehensive Medical/Surgical services are offered with 24-hour Medical Officer Support, including Orthopaedics, Urology, General Surgery, ENT, Bariatric and Vascular, Plastic & Ophthalmology.
