Excellent opportunities exist for a motivated Registered Nurse - Anaesthetics to join the Perioperative Team at a private hospital in Newcastle. This can be either a permanent full-time or part-time role with flexible rostering options.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will play a key role within a supportive team in ensuring high levels of patient care are provided.
As a Perioperative Registered Nurse - Anaesthetics, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering evidence-based nursing care;
- Undertaking peri-operative nursing care following legislation;
- Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team;
- Ensuring patient and staff safety;
- Supervising, directing and guiding nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and AINs to deliver patient care (RN only);
- Proactively assessing the operative nursing care provided to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the individual/patient;
- Documenting into the patient's medical record objectively, clearly, concisely and timely using accepted abbreviations and terminology.
REQUIREMENTS
As the successful applicant, you will possess the following attributes:
- Current AHPRA registration;
- 12 months' minimum experience as an RN - Anaesthetic;
- Working with Children check (if relevant);
- Commitment to Quality Patient Care;
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
- Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication and customer service skills;
- Works well independently and within a team;
- Basic computer skills.
RENUMERATION
A salary ranging from $39.09 - $54.89 per hour.

ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in Newcastle, is an 189-bed, acute, private facility with 11 theatres, including a hybrid theatre and a 15-bed Intensive Care Unit. A cardiac suite includes a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16-bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite, including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery, is available for families in the Newcastle region. The facility provides specialty care for individuals and their families undergoing cancer treatment and care with an inpatient unit and a day infusion lounge.
