An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Nurse Manager to take on a key leadership role within theatres, recovery, CSSD, day surgery and surgical wards at a private facility located in Melbourne. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of safe, high‑quality, efficient and patient‑centred care.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Surgical and Perioperative Services Manager, your responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing workforce planning, rostering and skill mix to support safe and efficient service delivery;
  • ]Demonstrating understanding of legislative requirements, ACORN Standards and sterilisation standards;
  • Leading accreditation processes and clinical quality and risk management activities;
  • Ensuring workplace health and safety policies, procedures and legislative obligations are met;
  • Managing budgets, controlling costs and achieving budgetary targets and key performance indicators (KPIs);
  • Building strong, collaborative relationships with VMOs, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary teams.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Current Registration with AHPRA;
  • Postgraduate qualifications in perioperative nursing;
  • Significant senior leadership experience within perioperative services in an acute healthcare setting;
  • Demonstrated experience in theatre operations, workforce management and budget accountability;
  • Strong knowledge of perioperative standards, including ACORN and relevant sterilisation standards;
  • Experience leading accreditation, quality improvement and risk management activities;
  • Well-developed communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills;
  • Commitment to workplace health and safety.
