A unique opportunity is available for a highly passionate, dynamic and engaging Theatre Floor Coordinator to step into a key leadership role at a private hospital in Sydney on a full-time basis.
POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Floor Coordinator, you will be responsible for the workflow coordination of the shift, ensuring the timely and efficient flow of operating lists and labour management. This is a key role in supporting the strategic direction of the department to both internal and external customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards;
- Supporting and liaising with the Nurse Unit Manager of the Perioperative department and wards;
- Ensuring all theatres are staffed appropriately and cost-efficiently;
- Understanding legislative requirements, ACORN and sterilisation standards;
- Demonstrating knowledge of accreditation processes, quality and risk management;
- Ensuring compliance with ACQSHC National Standards.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- Registered Nurse with at least 2 years' experience in perioperative settings;
- Postgraduate certificate in perioperative nursing or equivalent (desirable);
- Great working knowledge of ACQSHC National standards;
- Demonstrated ability to foster positive working relations with a wide range of diverse stakeholders;
- Demonstrate a good knowledge base in labour management;
- Understand the requirements of private health funding;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care;
- High degree of computer literacy, including MS Office and various databases;
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment.

ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in Western Sydney, is a modern 109-bed facility providing a wide range of health services to the local community, including orthopaedics, spinal, gynaecology, ENT, plastics, urology and general surgery, endoscopy, cardiology, cardiac angiography, and obstetrics. The hospital has eight operating Theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheterisation theatre, and an endoscopy suite, supported by a critical care unit that includes intensive care.
