A new position is open for an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Nurse Educator to join the Operating Theatre Team on a full-time basis at a private hospital in Melbourne. You will play a key role within a supportive team in ensuring high levels of patient care are provided. 

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Clinical Nurse Educator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying educational needs by partnering with Nursing Leaders (i.e. DON, NUM, CNS) and Clinical Support Functions (i.e. Quality, Infection Control);
  • Leading and fostering a learning environment;
  • Maintaining professional and constructive working relationships;
  • Prioritising patient safety and quality frameworks.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Current AHPRA Registration;
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent;
  • Certificate IV Workplace Assessment & Training (TAE);
  • Working with Children check (if relevant);
  • Thorough knowledge of ACORN standards and current legislation (perioperative specific);
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
  • Demonstrated experience in eLearning platforms;
  • Knowledge of adult learning practices and contemporary education practises;
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS Office;
  • Self-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a high-functioning team;
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, proactive, motivated and customer-focused.

ABOUT THE FACILITY

The hospital is a comprehensive 147-bed acute private hospital. The facility offers highly specialised services including an emergency department, advanced coronary care, cardiothoracic, orthopaedic, and general surgery. These services are supported by a 6-bed intensive care unit, a 9-bed acute coronary care unit, and 7 operating theatres.
