A unique opportunity is available for a highly motivated Registered Nurse to join the senior leadership team at a private hospital in Sydney on a casual basis.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The After-Hours Hospital Coordinator is a pivotal member of the health care team, providing after-hours leadership and management of the nursing team and hospital.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards;
- Providing leadership across the facility;
- Supporting and liaising with the respective Nurse Unit Manager(s) and heads of departments;
- Ensuring all areas are staffed according to patient acuity and appropriate skill mix;
- Coordinating patient admissions;
- Overseeing the safety of all patients and hospital staff;
- Managing multiple tasks and allocating resources appropriately.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- Recent experience with the coordination and allocation of human resources within identified KPI's;
- A high degree of computer literacy, including MS Office and Patient Management Software;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with advanced problem-solving and decision-making abilities to ensure excellence in patient-centred care and customer service;
- Be a role model for safe practice and commitment to quality patient care;
- Ability to apply the National Safety and Quality Health Service standards to clinical decision making;
- Understanding of Private Hospital Funding Models;
- Well-developed leadership skills, including mentorship and coaching of a multi-disciplinary workforce;
- The ability establish and maintain rapport with external referral providers;
- The ability to act professionally at all times when dealing with patients, their families and colleagues;
- The ability to manage special projects and selected portfolios;
- Current ALS Certification.

REMUNERATION
$68.87 - $72.13 per hour.
ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in Western Sydney, is a modern 109-bed facility providing a wide range of health services to the local community, including orthopaedics, spinal, gynaecology, ENT, plastics, urology and general surgery, endoscopy, cardiology, cardiac angiography, and obstetrics. The hospital has eight operating Theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheterisation theatre, and an endoscopy suite, supported by a critical care unit that includes intensive care.
