New opportunities await a qualified and experienced circulating/instrument Clinical Nurse with an orthopaedic and plastic surgery background to join a premier orthopaedic specialist facility in Adelaide. This is a permanent full-time opportunity, however 0.8 or 0.9 FTE may also be considered. This role operates on a Monday to Friday roster of morning and afternoon shifts, and participates in the on-call roster.
ROLE OVERVIEW
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Applying advanced clinical skills in orthopaedic and plastic surgery nursing with comprehensive knowledge of contemporary practice;
- Adapting effectively to changing clinical practices and care models;
- Communicating professionally with patients and multidisciplinary teams through excellent interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrating leadership by coaching staff to enhance learning and capability development;
- Utilizing hospital systems including PiMS and Microsoft Office proficiently;
- Maintaining strict compliance with legal and ethical perioperative standards;
- Implementing infection prevention and control principles consistently;
- Applying strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail;
- Exercising excellent clinical assessment abilities and critical thinking;
- Contributing to quality improvement through data analysis and service development;
- Fostering a safe, collaborative work environment centered on patient care;
- Upholding the highest ethical standards with complete confidentiality.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current nursing registration with AHPRA;
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC);
- Proven experience as a circulating/instrument nurse in orthopaedic & plastic surgery;
- Demonstrated advanced clinical skills in perioperative nursing;
- Sound knowledge of infection prevention/control protocols;
- Strong understanding of legal/ethical perioperative standards.
