ROLE OVERVIEW
You will work closely with the Critical Care Services Manager and a broader multi-disciplinary team to provide exceptional care and leadership across the department. You will play a pivotal role leading and supporting nursing staff during shifts to ensure continuity of care, promoting clinical excellence and mentoring staff in best practice, contributing to patient flow, bed management and efficient resource allocation, driving quality improvement initiatives and participating in clinical audits.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current Registration with AHPRA;
- Degree in Nursing and Health Management or Equivalent;
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Intensive Care or Coronary Care Unit or similar;
- Exceptional collaborative Interpersonal, leadership and well-developed verbal and written communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient-centred care;
- Evidence of participation in the National Standards and implementing policies within a Critical Care environment;
- Current Advanced Life Support Certificate;
- Experience with computerised reporting systems;
- Commitment to Professional Development and to a structured learning program for all staff;
- Membership of a relevant professional organisation;
- Postgraduate qualification in critical care or working towards the same (desirable);
- Completion of a mentor/preceptorship course (desirable).
