There is a fantastic chance for a highly motivated Nursing Leader with outstanding clinical and leadership abilities to join the management team on a full-time basis at a private hospital in Darwin.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing strong leadership and operational direction to the ward/unit in alignment with the hospital's strategic and business objectives;
  • Overseeing the day-to-day management of the Day Surgery Unit & Recovery, ensuring efficient, effective and safe operations;
  • Coordinating the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to achieve optimal patient outcomes;
  • Leading, supporting and developing the nursing team, providing guidance, mentoring and clinical supervision to less experienced staff;
  • Effectively managing human, financial and material resources to ensure efficient service delivery and budget performance;
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, quality, safety and clinical excellence;
  • Ensuring exceptional patient and customer service standards are consistently achieved and maintained;
  • Maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, accreditation standards, hospital policies and professional practice requirements;
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to promote effective communication and coordinated patient care;
  • Undertaking direct patient care when required to support the needs of the Day Surgery Unit & Recovery.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Current registration with AHPRA;
  • NT Working with Children check;
  • Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent;
  • Experience in the Acute setting;
  • Degree in relevant specialty area;
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • A strong commitment to developing in a management role;
  • A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care;
  • Proven time management and prioritisation skills;
  • Demonstrated sound knowledge base in labour management;
  • A management degree or working towards (desirable).
ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in Darwin, is a licensed 122-bed hospital providing a broad range of multi-day and day surgery, including General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Urology, Gastroenterology, ENT and Cardiac Catheter Laboratory.
