A unique opportunity exists for a dynamic and motivated clinician with relevant experience to provide expert leadership and direction to the specialised 34-bed Medical/Rehabilitation Unit at a private hospital in North Newcastle. This is a full-time role.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The successful applicant will work within the multidisciplinary team in providing leadership and governance to the inpatient arm of the Rehabilitation programs. The Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for the effective management and delivery of evidence-based nursing care and is accountable for the effective management of human, financial, and material resources within the unit.
As a Nurse Unit Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality leadership to the Rehabilitation Unit;
- Delivering evidence-based nursing care for the treatment of rehabilitation patients;
- Participating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of patient management plans and the overall program;
- Providing profession-specific consultation and advice to other members of the multi-disciplinary team;
- Liaising with families, the community, and other service providers as appropriate;
- Participating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and programs as appropriate;
- Contributing to education programs as appropriate;
- Leading the quality management system within the unit.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing)/ Nursing/ or equivalent;
- Postgraduate qualification in the relevant field of specialty;
- Membership or affiliation with a relevant professional nursing body;
- Recognised Leadership or Management Qualification (or evidence of working towards the same) (desirable).
