Join a thriving recovery unit team at a leading private hospital in Perth. We're seeking an experienced registered nurse who's passionate about post-anaesthetic care and recovery nursing to help patients through their most vulnerable moments.
About This Recovery Nursing Role
Working in the Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit means being at the heart of patient recovery. You'll be caring for patients as they emerge from anaesthesia, monitoring their vital signs, managing pain relief, and ensuring they're comfortable and safe during this critical period. It's challenging work that makes a real difference.
This position suits nurses who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy the variety that comes with caring for patients across different surgical specialties. Whether you're looking for full-time hours or prefer part-time flexibility, the hospital can accommodate your needs.
What You'll Be Doing
Your days will involve comprehensive patient assessments, closely monitoring recovery progress, and working alongside a fantastic multidisciplinary team including anaesthetists, surgeons, and allied health professionals. You'll also have opportunities to mentor newer staff members and share your expertise with colleagues.
Patient safety is paramount in recovery nursing, and you'll be implementing evidence-based practices whilst maintaining the high standards this hospital is known for throughout Perth's healthcare community.
We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will hold current AHPRA registration and have at least three years' post-graduate nursing experience. Previous work in a PACU or recovery setting would be brilliant, though the hospital is open to discussing your background if you have relevant critical care experience.
If you've worked with paediatric patients, that's a real bonus, as they occasionally care for younger patients. Most importantly, they want someone who's genuinely committed to excellent patient care and enjoys working collaboratively.
Why You'll Love Working There
This hospital believes in supporting nursing staff properly. You'll enjoy flexible rostering options, comprehensive leave arrangements, and access to discounted gym memberships and private health insurance. They also offer salary sacrifice opportunities for things like professional development and other lifestyle benefits.
The remuneration package ranges from $75,436 to $99,268 annually plus superannuation, reflecting your experience and qualifications. This is the base rate before any shift penalties or allowances.
About The Hospital
Located in Perth, this modern 900-bed facility serves the community across numerous specialties including cardiology, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, and oncology. The recovery unit supports surgical patients from all these departments, giving you exposure to diverse cases and continuous learning opportunities.
The nursing teams are known for their collaborative approach and commitment to professional development. You'll be joining a workplace that genuinely values its staff and invests in their growth.
