A unique opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to step into a leadership role of an Associate Nurse Unit Manager - Urology/Vascular at a private hospital in Melbourne. This is a permanent position with both full-time and part-time schedules available.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Facilitating a learning culture to ensure continuous improvement;
- Maintaining professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high-quality patient outcomes;
- Providing clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based;
- Being accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of human, financial and material resources;
- Coordinating and driving clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives;
- Undertaking direct patient care, as required;
- Mentoring of staff.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- Working with Children check;
- Current or previous ANUM or clinical nurse specialist experience (desirable);
- Sound clinical knowledge;
- 3 years of clinical/surgical experience;
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills;
- Positive role modelling behaviours;
- Excellent customer service focus, time management and prioritisation.

ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in Melbourne, is a fully accredited tertiary facility with 334 beds, providing Emergency Services, Extensive Surgical Specialities, a 14-bed ICU, a 17-bed CCU, Medical, and a full range of Cardiac Services including two 24-hour Cardiac Catheter Laboratories and Victoria's only Single-Site Robotic Surgery Program. The hospital has 15 theatres, including a hybrid theatre, diagnostic cardiology, two cardiac cath labs and capabilities for cardiothoracic surgery, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, urology and more. All supported by a newly expanded coronary care unit and intensive care unit.
