An exciting full-time opportunity is now available for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager to join the Surgical Unit at a private hospital in East Melbourne. This unit specialises in Orthopaedics, Urology, and it also has a 3-bed HDU.
ROLE OVERVIEW As part of our nursing team, you will be pivotal in planning and implementing nursing care to a high standard. This role will be pivotal in providing operational, clinical and professional leadership to staff, ensuring practice is aligned with the hospital's mission and values.
Some of the responsibilities may include:
- Working closely with NUM to provide direction, support, and advice to nursing & support personnel on a shift-by-shift basis;
- Constructively supporting the leadership of the NUM and assuming the responsibilities of the NUM in the absence of the NUM;
- Demonstrating ability and commitment to support organisational development as directed by the NUM;
- Facilitating effective working relationships with staff, customers, patients and VMPs;
- Liaising with the Clinical Co-ordinator and NUM to manage patient workload and staffing requirements on a shift-by-shift basis;
- Participating & actively supporting the achievement of the Unit and Organisational KPIs, Mission, Vision & Values.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will have:
- Current Registered Nurse Registration with AHPRA;
- Substantial post-registration experience;
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities;
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams;
- A commitment to excellence in patient-centred care, safety, and quality.
