ABOUT THE ROLE
The Perioperative Service Manager provides strategic and operational leadership overseeing the clinical, financial, and staffing requirements for operating theatres, Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU), and Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD). This role focuses on optimising theatre throughput and resource allocation while ensuring strict adherence to patient safety standards and clinical governance. Additionally, the manager fosters a collaborative multidisciplinary culture to maintain high-quality surgical outcomes and operational efficiency. You'll be working closely with the clinical team to ensure the efficient management of staff and resources. This will be with the overall goal of ensuring excellence in care delivery in line with policies and procedures and best practice. Reporting into the Director of Clinical Services, you will be mentoring and leading a passionate team of nurses and clinical support staff, so this role will suit an individual driven to help others succeed.
REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse;
- Minimum of five (5) years' post-graduate nursing experience in the perioperative setting;
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams with a proven ability to drive operational efficiency and foster a culture of excellence (highly desirable);
- Leadership and Management post-graduate qualifications or relevant post-graduate specialty qualifications will be highly regarded;
- Experience or exposure to managing clinical staff recruitment, rostering and performance management;
- Ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human and capital resources;
- Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to engage, influence, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including clinical teams, management, and patients, to ensure clear understanding and alignment of objectives.

The hospital is a 37-bed acute surgical and medical facility with three theatres. It specialises in Orthopaedic, Cosmetic, Plastic and Reconstructive, Ear, Nose, and Throat surgeries, and Dental surgeries. The medical ward accommodates general medical and palliative care admissions.
