Why should I use IHR Group instead of just looking for a job myself?

With our deep understanding of the New Zealand and Australian healthcare sectors, we can tell you exactly which roles are available and where. We always have a range of vacancies listed and we list new jobs most days. Some of the vacancies we list have not been advertised elsewhere, which means you can have first pick of some of the best medical jobs in Australia and New Zealand. We will also take care of most of the hassles involved in the job search, job application and interview processes for you (see below).

So how much will this cost me?

Our service for candidates is absolutely free. All charges are paid by the hospitals, clinics and other healthcare providers we place you with.

What’s your track record of matching healthcare staff with medical vacancies in Australia and New Zealand?

We’re happy to say that we have a 99% placement success rate. We have 10 years of experience in healthcare recruitment in Australia, New Zealand and worldwide. Our recruitment consultants have the experience and knowledge to match the right person with the right vacancy and we get it right almost every time.

So what do I need to do and what will you do for me?

Just send us your CV and let us know which vacancy, or type of vacancy, you’re interested in. If we think you may be suitable for a certain position, we will first interview you ourselves. The interview will be over the telephone and will take about an hour. If we still think you’re a good match for the job, we will arrange a brief telephone interview between you and the healthcare provider. We can help prepare you for the interview so you can showcase your skills, knowledge, experience and personal attributes in the best light. We will also arrange further rounds of interviews if the healthcare provider requests this. If the healthcare provider offers you the job and you’re happy to accept, we can take care of salary and bonus negotiations, check your references and manage the start date.

Though you might not get a certain job, you could be a perfect match for others. If any subsequent vacancies come up we think you may be suitable for, we will let you know.

Moving to a new country can often be a challenge. Can you give me any help or advice?

We have produced a free guide for our candidates giving advice on the practicalities of life and the working culture in Australia.

Can you help me with the immigration process and the process of registering with the authorities?

It is the candidate’s responsibility to apply for a visa and meet all the requirements concerning medical registration in Australia or New Zealand. Having said that, this website contains pages outlining the basic steps you need to take with regards to registration, immigration, visas and skills assessments. These pages also contain links to the websites of the government bodies you will need to deal with in connection with these matters. Click here for Australia and here for New Zealand.

How can I make the most of my recruitment consultant?

Communication is important. Please don’t hesitate to ask us any questions, ask our advice or express any concerns. It will help us if you are as clear as possible about the type of position you want, but if you need any extra advice to help you focus your job search please just ask. Although we will do our very best to negotiate a competitive salary with excellent benefits, you will need to be realistic about the salary you require. Your salary will be determined by market trends (about which IHR Group is very knowledgeable) as well as your particular skills, experience and qualifications.

Interested? You can start looking at the vacancies on our website right now. Please don’t hesitate to send us an e-mail or give us a call if you wish to apply for a job or would like any further information.
