An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and highly skilled Registered Nurse ready to assume the Associate Nurse Unit Manager role in the Neurosciences ward at a private hospital in Melbourne. It is a permanent full-time or part-time opportunity.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The successful applicant will assist the NUM in providing leadership and support to the unit to ensure a high standard of patient care. The opportunity to join the clinical leadership team will facilitate the development of your managerial skills. A comprehensive orientation program is offered to support the transition into this role.
As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Facilitating a learning culture to ensure continuous improvement;
- Maintaining professional and constructive working relationships with the VMO partners, using a customer service mindset to enable high-quality patient outcomes;
- Providing clinical, operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based;
- Accountability and responsibility for the effective daily management of human, financial, and material resources;
- Coordinating and driving clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives;
- Undertaking direct patient care as required.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Current Registration with AHPRA;
- At least 2 years of acute Neuroscience Nursing;
- Post-graduate qualification in a relevant field or willingness to work towards;
- Current or previous ANUM or clinical nurse specialist experience (desirable);
- Sound clinical knowledge;
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills;
- Positive role modeling behaviors;
- Excellent customer service focus, time management, and prioritisation;
- Ability to manage a dynamic and changing environment;
- A high degree of computer literacy, including MS Office and various databases.
REMUNERATION
Salary ranges from $52.93 - $ 54.71 per hour.
FACILITY DETAILS
The hospital is a 124-bed facility located in Melbourne, offering highly specialised services, including extensive neurosurgery, neurology, advanced coronary care, cardiothoracic, orthopaedic, and general surgery. A 10-bed intensive care unit, 4-bed acute coronary care unit, and 6-bed neurosurgical high dependency unit support these services. The Neurosciences ward is a 30-bed ward, including a 6-bed neurosurgical high-dependency unit. This ward cares for patients with complex neurological disorders and conditions.
