An outstanding prospect is available for a dynamic, highly motivated, energetic, and self-directed CSSD Technician looking to progress in their career and join a newly completed state-of-the-art CSSD Unit at a private hospital in Darwin. 

ABOUT THE ROLE
As the CSSD Educator, your responsibilities will include:
  • Plan and develop education and training for CSSD personnel, including competencies and mandatory training;
  • Assist Instrument Tracking System Projects;
  • Assist CSSD Manager in effectively managing the service to maximise clinical outcomes for patients;
  • Ensure compliance with AS 4187:2014, policies & procedures and legislation;
  • Ensure the highest standards of service provision and patient care are achieved through effective leadership, strategic direction and operational efficiency;
  • Lead Quality and Process improvement projects;
  • Flexible to work shift work as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Certificate III or IV in Sterilisation;
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a CSSD role within a hospital;
  • Sound knowledge of AS/NZ 4187 2014;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instrumentation;
  • Experience with tracking systems;
  • Endoscopy reprocessing experience or willingness to learn;
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail;
  • Intermediate computer literacy skills - including MS Office and various databases;
  • An interest in promoting best-practice patient care;
  • A focus on professional development;
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;
  • Previous Education experience.

ABOUT THE FACILITY

The hospital, located in Darwin, is a licensed 122-bed hospital providing a broad range of multiday and day surgery, including, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Plastic and Reconstructive, Urology, Gastroenterology and ENT and Cardiac Catheter Laboratory.
